Our recreational gymnastics classes allow gymnasts to develop their gymnastics skills in a fun, encouraging, non-competitive environment.

These classes are run on a term system and we have two terms a year that run between September and May.

All children learn skills on Floor, Sprung Floor, Beam, Bars, Vault, Trampette, Tumble Track and Trampoline. We also have a purpose built gymnastics foam pit.

At the end of each term, we have an open training session for the parents. Parents can watch their children train during this open training session.

Tiny Tumblers

Gymnasts are introduced to running, jumping, dancing, bouncing, swinging, rolling, balancing and safe landing. They will learn the fundamentals of gymnastic movements. This is often the children's first experience of staying and playing without their parents / guardians. They develop their learning skills, co-ordination, strength and their ability to follow instructions and interact socially with other members of the group.

Recreation Classes

Recreational classes focus on learning gymnastic skills through a structured gymnastics program which gymnasts can experience progression through their efforts. Classes are taught in an encouraging, non-competitive environment. Children are grouped according to age and train on all apparatus during the term.

The emphasis is on developing a love of physical activity through gymnastics, educating in technique and postural awareness as well as developing the flexibility, strength and co-ordination needed for progress to further more advanced gymnastics skills.

Gymnasts aged 6 years and over are continually assessed for their suitability to join one of our competitive groups

Teen Gym

Teen Gym classes are on  Wednesdays & Fridays from 7.30 - 8.30pm.

These classes are for participants between the ages of 13 - 17 who are either trying gymnastics for the first time or who no longer wish to compete and still want to enjoy the sport. This is a motivating class that focuses not only on strength and flexibility but also on the skills the class members wish to learn skills on all apparatus.

This class is geared toward teens who want time in the gym to work on new skills and to perfect old ones. Gymnastics is a fantastic way for teenagers to stay in shape, meet friends and build confidence and self-esteem.

Teen Gymnasts can also become club volunteers. Volunteers assist coaches while learning to become gymnastic coaches themselves.
